Ok guys, I need your help deciding on something. I tried to make a new poll here in this thread but it was acting all funky, wouldn't work right. So I'll just ask for your thoughts right here.

What is your favorite of the following ideas for the name of a run-down old ship? The (SS)...

1) Mighty Heap
2) Sea Heap
3) Rusty Sea Heap
4) Rusty Anchor
5) Sea Dumpster
6) None of the above

The "SS" is parenthetical because it can be optional. For instance, if you think "The Mighty Heap" sounds better than "The SS Mighty Heap", let me know that as well, with whatever your pick may be. Or, if you have a completely other idea, feel free to lay it on me.

Thanks, guys!

Dude, Rusty Anchor all the way. Anything that alludes to Grim Fandango is definitely a yes.

Yeah, Rusty Anchor definitely sounds best out of all those.

I think that it should be named directly after that Grim Fandango ship. Is it SS Lambada or something like that?

Oh, did it allude to Grim? I didn't even know xD Errr, I mean... OF COURSE it does! I meant it to!... o:p

I don't wanna have an EXACT, direct reference to it though, using the same name and such.

Rusty Anchor, for sure. It alludes to Grim, although in a subtle (naming it after a ship from Grim would not be quite so subtle). Also, i don't think the SS fits...it sounds to modern.

Yeah, FFM, that was the name of one of the ships from Grim. There was a number, I think most of them started with 'L' too.

KR,
Who will be actually DRAWING the game? You could ask Paco Vink. He's drawings were great. It's too bad the MI comic he was making is dead and buried. But I serously think that Paco can do it. If you want to. I'm just giving some suggestions to help you. Good luck with everything, I hope it's all coming together really well.

Paco's artwork IS very good indeed. However, I believe the reason that his comic has all but ceased (as he came on the boards and mentioned) was because he was just too, too busy with things in his personal life and such. Not only do I not wish to burden him with any more crowding of responsibilities in his life, I don't want to have to essentially wait around for him to get to it and such, ya know? It's not like he has the incentive of being employed under me or anything. I'll be doing the artwork myself. I've done my share of doodling virtually all my life, and study greatly the artwork of the games (especially CMI). In fact, I've just recently been reading up on Bill Tiller's interviews and other resources that I have for acheiving the right feel and tone for the artwork in this series. I'm never one to brag, and so I won't go claiming that my work will be NEARLY as beautiful as CMI's, for example, or even as good as Paco's, but I think it will be more than sufficient, and overall satisfying given the conditions of the project

Well, in this context (not referring to Hitler's secret police :drunk: ), it's: Steam Ship, or Sail Ship. And HMS (if you didn't know) is: Her Majesty's (as in the Queen of England) Ship.

Oh, OK thanks for that. :D So where are you up to in the game? Are you still in the writing process?
