Ooh, a little harsh on the old
'MI2'.
But oh well, you backed up your opinion and gave some good reasoning, so I can't really argue with your points.
In the end, one's enjoyment of the game really does just come down to whether or not you let certain things piss you off, or whether or not you take them in your stride. For example, I find that the openness of the world in
'LeChuck's Revenge' only adds to the epicness, with the island-hopping creating a sense of freedom. But I understand that it created a sort of tediousness for you, which got up your nose a bit. I can't blame you for this, and neither person is wrong in their criticisms or their praises of the game.
It really just comes down to what your preferences are in games and, specifically, adventure games. And
'MI2' was very adventurous and ambitious in a lot of areas, so I guess it was always bound (or doomed) to be met with vastly different opinions.
I don't really know what point I'm trying to make here; I don't really have a specific argument; I'm sort of waffling. Anyway, good review

. And nice work on the
'Curse' one too; I look forward to seeing what you say about
'Escape' and
'Tales'.
