Okay, I'm sorry if I've come across as a bit antagonistic. It's not a desire to bring the game down, but to make it the best it can be, that has made me so expressive.
I guess I did over-react a bit at not being selected. Looking at the other submissions, I thought I was sure to be chosen, because my ideas, especially the first one, were more character based than plot based... they were romantic quests of self discovery. Most of the other ideas were either 'save the world' or 'travel from point A to point B', and very little along the lines of 'character development' was mentioned. And certainly mine were the only ideas with any kind of romantic element.
While I wouldn't watch a movie or read a book purely for the 'romance', it does help a lot. Where would Monkey Island be without Elaine?
Anyway. The reason I reacted the way I did is because I have continuously asked Matt for original proof of his talent, and have been consistently denied or ignored. It vexed me, because he said he had written 'quality original stuff', and I assumed he would give us access to it without delay. It seems odd that the project leader would be given control of artistic judgement of other peoples ideas without first having given proof of his artistic talent.
But I guess I'll have to wait for the game itself to be released before I can see proof of his talent...
