Is this for real?

Postby Augustus » Fri Jul 04, 2008 3:38 pm

While scouring eBay at work today (it's really slow today) I came across this.
It appears to be an Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade Graphic Adventure, but in a DVD style case.
What does everybody else think? Is this legit? I have never come across DVD style packaging for the old LA adventures (and I love DVD style packaging). Perhaps the old adventures are also getting rereleased now...I'd be curious if anyone has heard more.
I'm sorely tempted to buy it, but I've already said I won't buy anything else from eBay this summer...oh well. If they are being rereleased I should be able to get my hands on another one.

Well... hmmm... when did this game originally come out? Cuz if it was that much long ago, there would have been no such thing as a DVD case, since there were really no (comercial) DVDs before, what, '97/'99-ish. I'd bet it's either a rerelease deal like you're talking about or the case is just an amateur (though impressive) creation. Can't say for sure though...

Yeah, that's what I was curious about...they've released some of the mid-90s games in DVD cases, which was why I was curious about a rerelease.

I noticed you can't actually see the disc label in the picture.

And there may have been no commercial DVDs until the late 90's but they didn't really start using them for games until these last couple of years.

I know, right? This is curious indeed...
