More re-releases!

Postby Covskin » Mon Jul 06, 2009 7:44 pm

Lucsarts are to release 10 classic games using Steam.

The 10 games due for revival, THIS WEDNESDAY, are:

Armed and Dangerous
Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade: The Graphic Adventure
LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventure
LOOM
Star Wars Battlefront II
Star Wars Republic Commando
Star Wars Starfighter
The Dig
Thrillville: Off the Rails

I'm pretty impressed by that list, as I think that's as diverse as they could have got. You've got classic point-and-click, you've got a couple of action games, you've got your Star Wars tie-ins and even your theme park simulation. That covers most of the bases. Only possiblt flaw is in pricing, but that hasn't been announced yet (to my knowledge). If prices are reasonable though, this looks to be another good tuern by Lucasarts. My god, they've finally remembered us! :D

More games are promised in the future too, so there could be more adventure games coming yet.

My eye just twitched involuntarily.

I just bought the two Indy games and Loom for 80 euro on ebay, and now they announce this.

This is great...likely to pick up Loom and Last Crusade so I can finally own them legally. May try Starfighter at some point. Have no desire for Thrillville and own everything else. What I'm really looking forward to is subsequent releases...Hopefully I'll be playing X-Wing and TIE Fighter by December!

Wow, it looks like LucasArts is stepping away from Star Wars and Indy only and starting to come back.

That may be the unluckiest thing I've heard in months.

I bought it along with DOTT as well, and that is supposed to be good, so at least it's cheap enough.

But not as cheap as they will be soon.

Well, they're released now...and at a pretty good price point (for North American steam users anyways). $5 for the really old games, $10 for the middle and $20 for Lego Indy, Thrillville, and Battlefront II.

Good news for European users as well: they didn't just slap on a Euro sign instead of a dollar sign. The Euro price points are € 3.99, € 8.99, and € 17.99.

HOLY COW THAT'S SO CHEAP!! Well, that's in US dollars right? But still that's an awesome price.
