About the end of the game...

Postby oferbr » Mon Jul 12, 2010 11:49 pm

Spoiler: show
Near the end of the game Lechuck has a voodoo doll of Guybrush in which he uses to torture him.
My question is: How did Lechuck get the ingredients (something of the head, thread, body, dead) to create the doll?

Thank you very much

Largo probably asked himself the same question, when he saw Guybrush with a voodoo doll of him

Yeah, but still, do you have any explanation?
I guess Lechuck got something of the dead the same way Guybrush did for the voodoo doll of Lechuck

(from one of the parents' skeleton)
but what about something of the Head, thread and body?

My guess would be when they're tied up in the dungeon.

Firstly I think it was the Voodoo Priest who did the doll and not LeChuck. Also, Largo has been tailing Guybrush presumably for much of the game though he never steps in to stop Guybrush getting the map-pieces for some reason. :-?

Maybe he bought the plaque that had Guybrush's spit on it from the antique store, got his dress from the bushes on Booty Island. So that's thread and body. :) The head part is a bit of a mystery though.

It's not very hard to pick up a stray hair that Guybrush lost. Also, he seems to rub his chin quite often in the game, so it could be that some beard hairs and/or skin flakes came off in the process, which Largo then picked up... ewww...

There is still one thing I don't understand, shortly after Lechuck is resurrected he asks the voodoo priest to build a voodoo doll of Guybrush, but later he tries to kill Guybrush together with Wally in the dungeon, so he shouldn't have known that Guybrush will manage to escape, therefore he wouldn't have needed the doll, and wouldn't have to ask the priest to build one for him.
So, why did Lechuck asked the priest to build the doll for him if his plan was to kill Guybrush in the dungeon?

It could be that Guybrush made up the bit about the acid pit when he told his story to Elaine.

Spoiler: show
If you do nothing but wait while Guybrush and Wally are hanging over the pit, you'll see what I mean.

It could also be that LeChuck changed his mind about how he wanted to kill Guybrush, or the voodoo doll was his Plan B in case Guybrush managed to escape...

I still think, provided the acid pit was true, that LeChuck's Voodoo guy must've just gathered up some stuff after Guybrush's capture.

I thought LeChuck was going to rip the doll apart and make a chair out of it, thus doing the same to Guybrush.

Or maybe LeChuck chasing Guybrush with a voodoo doll was all part of a voodoo spell to make Guybrush think he had defeated LeChuck. Maybe none of it happened. :P
