Best Bits of EfMI

I don't really give a stuff about what a lot of the Monkey Island community has to say about 'Escape from Monkey Island'; I think it's a darn good game which is judged far too harshly, and unjustly picked on.

I got so much joy out of 'Escape...' when I first played it, and have done so with each replay. And that's because it's an enjoyable game. It has flaws, but the flaws are more than evened out with the great moments, the funny moments, the memorable moments, the epic moments; the bits that made us laugh ("I drink to forget", "Forget what?, "I forgot"), the bits that made us smile ("It's... pink."), the bits that made us excited (completing the ultimate insult, making Casaba fire the "Relly big cannon!"), the bits that made us satisfied (winning the diving competition, destroying the catapult) and the bits that made us happy (the crew recruiting, the dialogue, the Ozzie-squashing, the traveling from one island to another, the.. bah, the everything!) - y'know, the good bits of 'Escape...'; the enjoyable bits of 'Escape...'; the best bits of 'Escape...'.

My Top-10 Moments/Quotes from the game:

1. LeChuck's revelation cut-scene, just love how it was composed and comes together

2. Pegnose Pete

3. "I knew deregulated banking would lead to this."

4. "Of course I'll never forget him. He's a talking monkey! How weird is that?"

5. Carla gets hammered

6. "If I wasn't a peaceable sort, I'd have a mind to whack that gentleman upside the head with one of my walking sticks. And I wouldn't stop whacking, until his brains leaked all over my rustic, hand-polished, hardwood floor. A'yup."
- But You're the peacable sort, right?
-Ayup

7. Chess-players start fighting ("Fringe Candidate!")

8. "I call them Hyggyn and Kyssyn"
-"You're kidding right... you're not kidding."

9. Meeting yourself from the past/future

10. The First Church of LeChuck

I can read minds, but it's pointless because I'm illiterate.

Me too!

10. The First Church of LeChuck

Yeah, Rasputin was so funny o:D

I loved the scene near the end,
Spoiler: show
where Elaine and her grandpa meet.

Guybrush: Elaine!
Elaine: Grandpa!
Herman: Darling!
Guybrush: Umm...Jojo!
Jojo: Don't even think about it, pink boy.

And of course, i've always loved references to past games e.g when a shopkeeper tells Guybrush that the swamp is supposed to be cursed, Guybrush says "Darn, another curse!". And if you use the 'pick up' option on Elaine, he says "I got the girl in the last game."
You're not supposed to enjoy classics, you're supposed to analyze them for meaning that isn't there!

The Duck! I tried to use it everywhere.

The music was good as always, and most of the backgrounds were quite nicely done, just not the characters.

I also really enjoyed eating pretzels for some reason, and finding out how many places you could get the darts thrown.
