MI4 secrets Posted by: Dalixam | Comments (0)
If you type skull anywhere in Escape from Monkey Island a big laughing Murray appears on the screen.

If you keep spinning Murray around until he starts repeating himself, turn Guybrush around, and type murrayball a classic ping-pong game appears, but with Murray as the ball :)

Larry Ahern leaves LucasArts Posted by: Dalixam | Comments (0)
EscapeMI.com reports that Larry Ahern, one of the co-designers on The Curse of Monkey Island, has left LucasArts.

Many of the big names have left LucasArts during the last year, among them Jonathan Ackley, who were the second co-designer on CMI.

Larry Ahern's resignation has not been officially confirmed by LucasArts, so let's hope it's just a bad rumor. Otherwise, another great designer has left the company.

    Here's a snippet:

The only thing funnier than the jokes is the graphics, but the real problem here is the shoulder-saggingly illogical puzzles. If you're a Monkey Island fan this is a bitter disappointment and if you're not you'll wonder what on earth all the fuss is about.

I strongly disagree with the review and I don't think I'm the only one.

MI4 released in Europe Posted by: Dalixam | Comments (0)
This is the day where Escape from Monkey Island is released in almost all of Europe. However, I was unable to find the game in any retailers today and a clerk I asked didn't know when they were going to get it. This leads me to believe that the Danish release date has been pushed back just like the Norwegian date was.
This is only speculation, but games are usually simultanious released in the Scandinavien countries, meaning MI4 will be out on the 22nd in Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. If anyone has any other information about this please email me.

Update: man from mars (nickname I presume) asked around in Sweden and three retailers said MI4 would be out on Monday while one said it would be out on the 25th.

Celebrating the release of MI4 Posted by: Dalixam | Comments (0)
To celebrate yesterdays release of Escape from Monkey Island (and to celebrate that this site turned 3 years on October 20) I have added this nifty news script, which allows me to update news easier and quicker than before. Furthermore, you can now search the news archive by using the little search box below the news.

Play the music from MI4 Posted by: Dalixam | Comments (0)
Like the demo, it is possible to play the music seperatly in the full version of Escape from Monkey Island. Go to the folder named "textures" (on both discs) and in the "mego" and "spago" directories rename the .m4b extensions to .mp3. Now you can play the music with any mp3 player!

Eventhough Escape from Monkey Island has been released in the US all of us in Europe still have to wait a few weeks, so here's a few things to make time go faster:

To make the anticipation bigger, GameSpy has published 10 new screenshots from the game we so eagerly await.

You can also read the final chapter of
Joe Townsend fan novel "The nightmare of Monkey Island".
    Go read
Part 4: 100 heads are better than one now.
