New Novel! Posted by: FaNaTiC | Comments (2)
Wow! New Novel by Akril! This is a script. May I just say that it's really good, and you should all read it.

Double Quick & Easy Posted by: Ryback | Comments (0)
Those of us who run our LucasArts titles on whizzbang XP systems know how useful the LEC Quick & Easy program is. Sadly that frontend is no more - but that's because it's been split into two separate programs, ScummVM Quick & Easy and VdmSound Quick & Easy. And while you're at the site you can pick up the Resource File Creator and Dumper, and the Index File Reader, whatever they are. So, amateur LucasArts hackers, you know what to do...

An old friend Posted by: Dalixam | Comments (4)
Our dear old friend, Downtime, decided to pay us a quick visit. Apperantly, him being here was caused by some IP switching and some DNS lazyness, but he has once again left us with nothing but a big empty hole in time. Until we meet again my friend, until we meet again.

Saucy survey Posted by: Dalixam | Comments (3)
LucasArts is running another one of those surveys where they ask you what games you like to play and what kind of PC you have etc. Be sure to answer "Adventure" as your favorite genre (We want MI5, don't we?) and you know what to answer under "Other" in question 6, right? Right?

Nightlight Productions Returns Posted by: Ryback | Comments (0)
Remember Beneath Monkey Island, the Monkey Island radio play with various members of the MI community doing the scripting and voice duties? Well, part two has just been released at Nightlight Productions. And since there's been such a long gap between instalments, part one is still there for the download. So don't delay, catch up on what you've missed, and be sure to leave some feedback at the Nightlight Productions Forums.

Monkey Island all the way Posted by: Dalixam | Comments (6)
LucasArts now offers all four Monkey Island games for the price of $27.95 to all US and Canada customers. This is no nifty gift set though, as the games come in their own CD sleeves and jewel cases.

Pirate DVD Posted by: Dalixam | Comments (6)
Today is the day when "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl" is officially released in the US. It has of course been available through online retailers for a few weeks and if I could have afforded it I would have gotten it weeks ago, but that Two Towers gift set was a pricy collectible.

Anyway, if you live in the US you probably know where to get it and if you live in Europe or somewhere else and have a region free player you can buy it for £15.99 (€22.71) at Loaded247. (Free shipping).

Update: I just realized the DVD has been released in the UK as well and the R2 area af Loaded247 has it for £15.99 (€22.71) (Free shipping).

Ben Gunn music Posted by: Dalixam | Comments (0)
Do you remember Ben Gunn? If you've read the book "Treasure Island" you might remember him being a castaway. The Ben Gunn Society released a self-titled CD earlier this year containing various songs about Ben Gunn and one of the songs is clearly inspired by Monkey Island. With the permission of the The Ben Gunn Society the song can now be found in our Fan Music section and if you're to lazy to go there you can also download the song directly here.

If you like what you hear you should check out their website where you can read more about Ben Gunn and listen to other songs.

Barbossa's Revenge? Posted by: Paco | Comments (5)
According to Dark Horizons, Geoffrey Rush will return as Captain Barbossa for the Pirates of the Caribbean sequel. Rush explained that while there are going to be two Pirates sequels, he'd probably only be back for number two. He also mentiones that "the next film and his character's return would have something to do with Voodoo magic." Interesting.

Return of the punchlines Posted by: Dalixam | Comments (6)
I bet you didn't expect this, did you? The colorful and slightly shy punchline section has returned and the adventures of Crackers and Guybrush continue in an all new comic strip. The previous punchline was provided by Jojo Senior and you can check it out in the lovely archive.

The number of punchlines you can submit has been reduced to two due to balance changes and because we say so. Now, go check it out and submit your suggestions for a great punchline. Punchline.

Yet another fan fic! Posted by: Fanatic | Comments (0)
Yes! Once again I have resisted the urge to be lazy and ignored my work in order to put up another novel! Jon Uranga has a new fan novel up called Stan's Pre-Used Adventure all four chapters are up and it's an interesting take on an adventure that Stan, everyone's favorite salesman, takes in order to save the Marley-Threepwoods!

A short little excerpt:
"I shook. The door opened slowly, producing a sound of rocks scratching. The inside light invaded the dark tunnel in which we stood, blinding me for a while. Despite the fact that I couldn’t see, I leapt forth..."

Okay, now that you're completely enthralled with suspense, go read it.

Orson Scott signing Posted by: Dalixam | Comments (0)
On October 16th Orson Scott signed books, swords, and other creative items at a Sci-Fi convention in Israel. Orson Scott wrote the science fiction novel "Ender's Game" and won the Hugo Award and the Nebula award for it. He also wrote all the dialogue for "The Dig" and helped write the dialogue for "Loom". Futhermore, he wrote the insults and comebacks for the sword fighting in "The Secret of Monkey Island", which is where he becomes interesting to us.

You can see pictures from the event here and one of them shows to people dressed up as pirates who performed a live version of a sword fight between an evil pirate and the lesser-known Guywood Threepwood.

You can also read an interview with Orson Scott about some game being released for some console by clicking here.

Thanks to salty-horse for the heads up.

Old reviews & new links Posted by: Dalixam | Comments (1)
It is now possible to access the old fan ficton reviews here. They are all listed in order of which fan fiction/novel they belong to, but be warned: It ain't pretty. It's meant as a way to give authors of the reviews a chance to transfer their reviews to our new review system by copying and pasting. Please notice that now you can only post one review for each novel, comic, etc, but you can edit it as often as you want. The page with the old reviews will stay up until I get tired of looking at it in the database and it'll only be linked to from this news post.

You might also notice that the links at the top of this index page has changed a bit; There are now easy accessible links to the forums and to the newest fan art and artist page.

Major Fan Fiction Updates Posted by: Fanatic | Comments (4)
Well, the time has finally come where I get to post my first news article...thing.
Yes, I'd like to start off apologizing profusely to everyone for making them wait so long for their novels/chapters to get uploaded. And I'd like to apologize to those who's work I just found today as I was double checking my mailbox. You will not be included in this update, but if you want to just double check that I have everything you want uploaded e-mail me. Please put a subject line that I will recognize like "Re: My Fan Chapter" or something, because I've been swarmed with spam, and that's why I've just recently discovered some chapters that have long awaited their time to shine.

I normally would include a caption from all of the new novels, but I fear that that will take up far too much space.

There is also a new neat little feature. You may notice a strange looking white triangle in the upper left-hand corner on the title bar of the novel. Although it has not been done yet, when a novel is completed and no more chapters are going to be added to it, that triangle will become a box! Isn't that neat?! I'm very much impressed. This way you are able to know if a story is complete before you read it!

Recently Added Chapters/Novels include:

"The Second Element 1: Camera Obscura" Part 1, 2, and 3 by Tyraa Rane

"Monkey Island: Pirate" Part 1 by Keith Chan (This is a parody of Ridley Scott's "Gladiator")

"The Sovereign of Monkey Island" Chapter 3 by Neil Joshi

"I Went There" Chapter 5 by Marty Hooie

"Monkey Island 5 - Operation Guybrush" Chapter 5 and 6 by Lucy Kitching

Okay, it might not sound like much, but I assure you they are all awesome and now you must all go read them.

Pirates of the Caribbean 2 and 3? Posted by: Dalixam | Comments (3)
It has been known for a while, even before the original film hit theaters, that there would be a sequel to "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl", but there is a chance for a second sequel as well.

According to sources close to the film, the producers are pondering the possibility of back-to-back sequels - Two sequels shot in one simultaneous production. Other franchises which has done this includes the "Back to the Future" sequels and "The Matrix" sequels.

Reportedly, talks have begun to secure the cast should Disney pursue that avenue. It is certain however that producer Jerry Bruckheimer, director Gore Verbinski, writers Terry Rossio and Ted Elliott, and talent Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley will return for at least one sequel.

6 years and one day Posted by: Dalixam | Comments (51)
Yesterday it was the 6th birthday of "The World of Monkey Island" and as you have probably already noticed, we have given the site a completely new design.

This update was of course supposed to happen yesterday and we spent around 6-8 hours updating the site and 5 minutes before we were ready to open our server decided to have one of it's infamous downtime periods. We waited for more than an hour, but we had to get up early today, so...Apologies for the delay, but the downtime was out of our hands.

Yes, the new design is the big surprise we've been hinting at for the past two weeks with disappering crabs and mysterious images. Can you spot Larry (the crab) here on this design?.

We know some of you were expecting MI5 or the eigth wonder of the world, but this is all we have. Well, that and the other six designs...

Yep, you read correct, if you log in with your WMI/forum username and password in our fancy new login box to the right, you can select different designs on your options page.

We have three designs by Paco and four designs by Ado.

Is it all done then? I hear you ask. No, even though we have worked on this for several months, we were unable to finish everything for today. The font colors on the different designs still need some tweaking and four sections are stuck somewhere in the swamp on Lucre Island. These include the punchlines, articles, credits, and the big "Funny Things" section, but don't worry, we'll get started on them soon and we'll begin with the punchlines :)

We also got some new features to brighten up the place.

The first thing is our new email system, through which all emails are sent and no email addresses are ever show on the site or in the HTML code. Hopefully, this will result in a decrease in the amount of spam some of us receive daily. My count is on the wrong side of 200.

Secondly, we have added a Monkey Island page containing rumors and news about a possible MI5.

Other new features include the possibility to write reviews for Paco's and Iris' comics as well as for the fan comics and fan fiction (Previously know as fan novels). The latter you've always been able to do though.

You can of course still comment on fan art, but now you can also comment on all other fan creations, such as fan music and fan animations.

We also have a completely new guest book and the "Site history" page has been updated with new entries.

On a related note, The Scumm Bar recently celebrated their 7th birthday. Congratulations!

That's all for now, but this is merely the tip of the iceberg...or half of it anyway, as we'll be adding the missing sections, tweaking colors, and such in the coming weeks. We hope you like the new designs and wish you lots of fun in the new World of Monkey Island.

Mister Ado made 2 fantasic new pieces, one showing Stan the salesman with his usual big smile and the other is a new creepy Minnie Goodsoup picture. And finally we have Minna Mäkinen who made 4 lovely new black and white drawings. Be sure to check them all out:

Happy belated birthday! Posted by: Dalixam | Comments (18)
Being the self-absorbed buccaneer that I am, I completely forgot that September 27th was Paco’s 21st birthday! To show how sorry I am, I have arranged a brass-band to play a lovely tune outside his bedroom window next Saturday morning at 6 AM. I also smashed my piggy bank and bought him a wonderful two-week vacation to Minsk. Happy belated birthday Paco!

Status update Posted by: Dalixam | Comments (18)
Here is a little update on what's going on with the missing sections. Let's start with the fan art section, which suffered the most. I emailed all the artists who had lost images a while ago and many have replied and re-sent their images.
However, I still need to hear from Monkeygirl, Sanful, Gaia, Kenley Browne, Flame, John Macomber, David Rheinstrom, Haggis, George M, Junior, Matthias gerth, Freyah, frost, Itant, Johanna G, Emily, Marius "Jaws" S. Finnstun, PhillyG, Alpha Doubt Sighfritto, zeroloop, Jazzmonkey, Stefanos, H.T. Marley, Lupine, Adonis, MoonLight, Tadhg, Maya, and Jean-Baptiste HERVET.
Please contact me as soon as possible. If I don't hear from you I have to remove your lost images and possibly complete gallery from the site.

The fan music section is doing ok. Two files are lost, but they were saved from the sinking server, so we should be able to get our hands on them again, in which time this section will be back up. Of course, if anyone has the files, they can send them to me and we can get it done a lot faster. (Maybe the artist himself can re-submit them?). The two files are "Monkey_Island.mp3" and "Rollercoaster_of_Death.mp3" both by Alex MacDonald. Thanks to Dan Robert Polsrød who sent me the two missing files.

The fan comics are another matter. I have emailed all artists, whose comic were affected, a while ago, but not all have replied and some have replied, but not re-sent the pages. I still need to hear from The Scottish Dog, Flame and Frost, and Adolo. If I don't hear from you soon I'll have to remove your comics from the database, so this section can go back up.

The article section is toast, gone, non-existent. All articles are lost in a big black hole unless the authors can submit them again. The section will remain offline until I have the time to write a new script for it.

Some problems still exist with the punchline feature, so that'll also remain offline a little while longer.

Last, but not least, we are missing one wallpaper in the wallpaper section. I have emailed the artist, but received no reply. If anyone has the wallpaper ("Ghost ship" by John Macomber) please send it to me.
Marcin Fo³ta was nice enough to quickly send me the wallpaper and it is now back online. Thanks!

That's it for now, you may return to your normal duties.

Make yourself heard Posted by: Dalixam | Comments (3)
Scamp needs a few more voice actors for his audio play, so if you think you can fill one of the parts, then record the lines below as a wav file and send it to Scamp.

A very old grampa. He needs to be calm, naive, and think really REALLY slow...

"Grampa: Oh, you and your pumpkin juice! I want to know where are we? What is this weird place? I was sitting in the nursery, and suddenly, I wake up in the middle of this thingy.what was it's name again?"

and, for the same character:

"Grampa: Well I'll be! I found my walking stick! It was in me left hand all the time! Hahahahaha...."

The Lord's trusty Butler John. He needs to be Very calm. Remeber that he's a cockney butler!

"John: Yes, sir, would you like some tea?"
"John: Greetings sir! I am very excited that we're going to the Worlds most Dangerous Islands, and that we're going to die in unimaginable pain... yes, I feel like making some tea now...."

And finally, a character with no name yet... He's evil but looks good... He's young...about 20 years old...

"Character: Welcome to the Island of Shadows... I'll be your guide...Watch your step! There ARE dead bodies lying around here... A-hahahahahaaa!"

"Character: (Angry, yelling) Who gave you permision to come here and WRECK MY HOUSE?!"

"Character: (low voice, Psicho voice, sounds like he was crazy) I see...Well, you're not gonna make it..... Never again hehehahahaha! NEVER!!! HAHAHAHAHA!!!"

Vote MI Posted by: Dalixam | Comments (0)
A little late, but here it is anyways; LucasArts' latest poll is of the odd kind. Asking "Which of the following would be your dream LucasArts release?" one of the options is "Voted of Monkey Island", whatever that is supposed to mean. A "Survivor" spoof? Not sure I get it...

Thanks to Neil Joshi for the reminder.

Hi, how are you? Posted by: Dalixam | Comments (15)
Hi and welcome back to the adventurous world of Monkey Island! As you most likely know, the site has been down for almost three months. We’ve tried that before and this time there were at least a temporary forum. So, what happened? Well, in short, the network got hacked and the following complications resulted in deletion of all files on the hard drive. Since then we have been waiting for a recovery facility to try and restore the data and we hoped the best. However, we recently learned that the files we needed could not be saved.

The last backup we had of the forums was from February 15, so the forums will look like the past months never happened. This also means that users who have registered after February 15 will need to register again. It sucks, but I guess there are worse problems in the world.

The site is back, but the sections affected by the problems mentioned above remain offline until they can be fixed. Those sections include the punchlines, articles, fan art, fan music, and fan comics. The fan art section suffered the most, but we will do everything we can to bring it back as it were. Each artist will receive an email in the near future explaining the situation.

There will be more information on the status of these affected sections in the following days and weeks. We’ve learned our lesson and will take steps to prevent a similar disaster from happening in the future :)

We’ve have also been busy during the downtime working on new stuff for the site, but you’ll have to wait a little to see that. For now, we just want to welcome you back and what better way to do that then by presenting you with two new pages of Paco’s MI1 comic? Enjoy page 24 and 25!

Best PC Game Series Ever Posted by: Ryback | Comments (0)
Michael Lewis of (not what you're thinking) has written a long, extremely persuasive article entitled Monkey Island - Quite Possibly the Best PC Game Series Ever?

But what separates Monkey Island from other games is its obvious, and unique blend of humour. For example, lets take a look at Stan and his used coffins. Yes, read that again, used coffins! Monkey Island uses humour that will make you think: "What the bloody hell is that all about?!" whilst you spit out your drink in laughter. I mean, who thought that Largo LaGrande would ever wear a bra?

There's a lot more to it: go read.

Well, sorta real. Staffmember Junaid discovered the other day on his work at Toys'R'Us that "Return to Monkey Island" was listed in their computers as an excisting game. ...of grog, and curl up in your bed with a good book. Comfortable? Good. Now get the heck out of there, because you forgot to print out that book. Yes, new additions to the fan novel section. The last part of the second chapter of The Sovereign of Monkey Island, by Neil Joshi, is online. Here's a snippet:

‘So, who are you? I mean, what do I call you?’ asked Guybrush.
‘I am known by many names. But I let my friends call me Rider.’
‘And am I considered a friend?’
‘Wouldn’t know. I’ve never had any. But call me Rider anyway.’
    ‘And you can call me—’
    ‘Guybrush Threepwood.’

And we have a brand new fan novel, called The Brothers of Monkey Island, by Adude. Here's a quote from the first chapter of that novel:

Deep in the Caribbean...when it’s actually daytime for once! An almost 18 year-old Guybrush wearing a really nice, soft leather trench-coat with gold buttons on the front, giving him an all-round ‘snazzy’ look, runs as fast as he can onto the deck of his new ship and looks around all happy. Well, it wasn’t his really...

Be the voice of Guybrush Posted by: Dalixam | Comments (7)
As you may know, Nightlight Productions is making an audio play which will involve many of our favorite Monkey Island characters. Scamp, who will play Stan, has decided to make his own audio story. He doesn't mean to copy Nightlight Productions or compete with them, but he feels bad for those who didn't get a part in Nightlight Productions's play and wants to give everyone a part in his play.

The story shall be about a journey that Guybrush and Stan make and with the script/story, everyone shall help. Those who want a part in the play should send their voice samples to with the following lines of each character they want to be:

    The following characters are needed:

    Guybrush Threepwood
"Stan? What? What is it? Wait...let me guess...there something really bad behind me, right? (turns around) This won't end well!"

A wise old man (No name for him right now. If you have any ideas, send them to Scamp)
"Aye, boy. The map to Shadow Island! (thunder)Come see me when you return from the Island...(mysterious) survive! Hahahaha!"

    Voodoo Lady
"You must be really carefull Guybrush! This quest is very
dangerous! Even more dangerous than your other adventures!"

"Be gone with you, mortal! Evil shall rule one day, and all of you will be sorry! Bwahahahaha!Hey...HEY!!!...where did everybody go?....hello?"

If you have any ideas what kind of characters could be put in this story (These characters won't be the only ones used, of course), e-mail them to Scamp and he'll see what he can do.'s a scary story(with lots of fun in it!).

Read 'em, cowboy! Posted by: Haggis | Comments (0)
We have two additions to our ever-growing fan novel section. The first one is written by Jon Urunga's brother Iñigo, and it's called Monkey Island 5.1: Project Guybrush & Murray. Here's a snippet:

‘Guybrush, buy a voodoo prosthetic body, please!’ whined Murray. ‘No,
Murray, I know why do you want the prosthesis.’ I replied. I pushed one of
the fingers on the hand, and the Voodoo Lady appeared.

And last but not least, there is another addition to Neil Joshi's novel, The Sovereign of Monkey Island. Read chapter 2c here, after getting interested by this quote:

The wave carried them for miles. It only took a few seconds. Guybrush looked up. ‘What’s that?!’ he shouted down to the cloaked man, as he plainly saw through the rain and lightning the blurred lights of a far away town.
    ‘It’s Pillage Island!’
‘What a stupid place to put an island! Right in the path of a… oh wait.’

Pirates in space Posted by: Haggis | Comments (1)
No, that's not a reference to Pigs in Space. It is, in fact, a reference to the latest fan novel chapter, added to Space Pirates by Chris Ratcliff. Read this little bit, and then read the rest:

"I've got an idea, Mr. Brush," said Wally. He knelt down between them, and ran his dust-covered hands over the handcuff chain. "Hold still, both of you." His fingers moved slowly and carefully, covering every inch of the chain. When this was done to his satisfaction, he started to rub the dust onto the cuffs. "This bit is a bit tricky. Don't want to get any of this on your hands."

Argh, matey Posted by: Haggis | Comments (0)
There's a nice article posted on Suite 101 about pirates. And though it is not directly Monkey Island related, it should provide interesting background information on the era in which the MI games are set. Read it here. Oh, and here's a snippet:

Although pirates flew flags before this time, the Jolly Roger we know belonged to the pirates of this age. They favored sloops and ketches to hunt their prey. While New Providence in the Bahamas provided them a safe haven for a time, Woodes Rogers changed that after his appointment as governor.

2 new chapters Posted by: Haggis | Comments (0)
As it says in the title. One entirely new novel, by The Lost Welshman. This one is called Monkey Island 5: The Secret Uncovered, and here's a snippet from the first chapter:

“Guys, this is the guy I told you about, he fought ‘The Machine’ for hours, it was supposed to be a ten minute session but he didn't give up. How’ve things been Threepwood”
“Oh the usual, trying to get rid of annoying Undead pirates, you know, the usual”
“Ha ha, you’ve got a good sense of humor Threepwood, are you a pirate yet?”
“Uh, I’ve been a pirate for a few years now, I'm married to Elaine”

Read the entire first part here.
And there is the second part of the second chapter (confused yet?) of The Sovereign of Monkey Island. It's worth a read; judge for yourself:

Elaine walked out of her house, the moonlight shone on her face, illuminating that face that launched a thousand ships in her time (although she generally used a bottle to launch ships these days, less head injuries that way).

Dave Grossman interview Posted by: Paco | Comments (1)
AdventureGamers has posted a brand new interview with Dave Grossman, the man who co-wrote Monkey Island 1 and 2. Here's a short snippet:

"You'll probably think we're insane after asking this, but... when you blow up the dam in the Amiga version of MI1, a small chest comes flying over Guybrush's head. In the PC version, it's a rock instead. Do you know why the chest was replaced and was it supposed to be used for anything?

Oh, that was the chest containing the secret—you know, the Secret of Monkey Island."

Ready for a new punch? Posted by: Dalixam | Comments (7)
Turn off the TV and silence the stereo because it is once again time to scrath your head and come up with a funny punchline for the newest strip in the adventures of Guybrush and Crackers. There is now also a date and time on each suggestion, so it's easy to see exactly when a punchline was submitted. When you update your lines the date only changes for the affected lines. Check it out!

The winner of the last punchline is Thomsen. It wasn't easy chosing a winner because there were so many funny lines, but we finally settled on this one. You can check it out in the archives.

Note: Since there was no date and time on the previous three strips the date and time displayed for those punchlines may not be correct.

Reading input... Posted by: Haggis | Comments (0)
Uh, yeah, pun was intended there. Updates to the fan novel section! Rejoice! The first one is the ending of The Beginning, by McPirate. A snippet:

Lindy had heard the smacking of the gun, but since no one else seemed to notice the faint metallic sound, he thought that his imagination had affected his hearing, and he cursed himself for still being such a child.
After a while, Angus was able to breathe normally again, and defeated (at least in spirit) he slowly crawled away from the campfire, and was in the thoughts of leaving the camp, and giving up his hope of finding the treasure.

Read the full chapter here; the credits for this novel have also been added.
The second one - and it's very good, if you allow me to be slightly less objective than I probably should be - is chapter 2 (a) of "The Sovereign of Monkey Island" by Neil Joshi. Try before you buy (um, it doesn't actually cost anything):

Guybrush had finally finished mopping the deck when a huge wave careened over the side of the ship and left the deck full of fish and seaweed. Guybrush looked over at the pirates watching him who just laughed and motioned him to carry on.

Movie magic Posted by: Dalixam | Comments (0)
Pocius emailed to inform us that he and several of his friends are currently beginning production on a cartoon w/voice movie called "Monkey Island V: Endgame". The movie will be a combination of the characters and comedy of all four games, with a twist of "The Matrix". It will be a funny shoot-em-up with classic pirate swordfighting action. Plus, all of the music will be fan made and will be coordinated by Pocius to suit the scene.

The plot is still being kept a secret, but he promises that we will see almost all the characters in the MI games. Stay tuned for more news and the release of the website.

Update: Pocius is looking for more background artists for the project. Drop him a line if you're interested. The website for the movie is also up, you can check it out here.

    Yo-ho-ho Posted by: Paco | Comments (0)
AintItCoolNews managed to get their hands on the script of the Pirates of the Caribbean movie. Here's a snippet of what they had to say about it:

"So why does it work? It never pretends to be anything more than what it is, and it makes fun of itself with references to the ride. When we meet Jack, he is in prison. In the next cell are 4 pirates. They are all calling over a dog who holds the keys to the cell in his mouth. You know the scene. Jack quips 'you can try all you want, that dog will never move.' Not hilarious, but it shows the spirit here."

    Criss-cross-overs Posted by: Haggis | Comments (0)
Two new fan novels have been added: The first one is inspired by Attack of the Clones, written by Jon Urunga. Here's a piece of the action:

    "Meow!" screamed somebody.
"Oh, it was only a cat. Hey, who or what is there?"
    They heard the same creak.
    "Another cat," said a voice.
"Oh, Otis, how can you be so silly!"

And the second one, called The Secret of Monkey Island has something to do with Pokémon:

"Well, let's see what's inside my Pokeball," said Monica, pushing the button on her purple pokeball. Again, it emitted a bright light, turning into a purple, round, gas-like Pokemon with two scary eyes and two salient teeth on each mouth corner.
    "Gastly," exclaimed the creature, smiling.
"How sweet," said Monica, hugging it. "What is it?"

A Pirate's Plot (Update) Posted by: Paco | Comments (2)
*Update*: Ain'tItCoolNews has published some cool concept art of the movie with some great drawings of the undead skeletons. Check it out here or here at Yahoo! Movies! Also, the official Disney/Touchstone release schedule for 2003 indicates that Pirates of the Caribbean was moved up from July 27 to a July 9 release.

Fangoria recently talked with Jerry Bruckheimer, the producer of the Pirates of the Caribbean movie, who commented on the Disney ride adaptation:
"The pirates – what happens is they stole this cursed treasure and unless they put the treasure back, they never die, they can't enjoy life. They can't enjoy food or sex. All they want to do is plunder and get more and more and more gold. And in the moonlight, they turn into skeletons. So, you can just imagine the effects. ILM is doing the effects.".
